Emily Keats - $1000
Emily Keats is from Medford, Massachusetts and graduated from Mystic Valley Regional Charter School in Malden, Massachusetts. Emily will be attending Northeastern University with a major in American Sign Language and Human Services. She volunteered at the Medford Family Network, a local organization that supports families and children in the Medford Community with playgroups, community events, parenting programs, and more. Emily also worked for a local summer camp named Power Kids which focuses on community values and virtues and has been run by local teachers for the past 17 years. Emily was a member of the National Honor Society and graduated with an award for academic excellence in English. In addition to this, Emily was an active member of Mystic Valley’s Drama program, Environmental Club, Quizbowl team, and Yearbook Committee. She intends to continue to support her community while in college, with a focus on accessibility and community-based family and child support. Emily was sponsored by her mother, Leslie Winslow-Keats ‘93.
