Claire O'Malley - $2000

Claire O’Malley is a graduate of Haverhill High School, and like her father and aunt, an alumna of the Haverhill High School choir and a member of the National Honor Society. Her family has long had roots in Haverhill and a connection to Bradford College, where her grandmother, Dr. Patricia O’Malley, was a long-time professor, and her father and aunt both attended.

Claire has had a lifelong love of learning and curiosity, fostered by her family, and has always looked for new connections and new opportunities. At Haverhill High School, this included choir; mixed, select, and a cappella; drama club, where she fostered skills both on and off-stage; and Interact club, a volunteer organization affiliated with the Haverhill Rotary Club. Academically, she was able to participate in the Early College program at Northern Essex Community College, which is a valuable program to help prepare for college by taking college classes in addition to high school classes. Outside of high school, she has been fencing recreationally at Vivo Fencing Club for almost six years. She is excited about continuing to explore her interests in college, and is going to be attending the University of New Hampshire to study marine biology.  Claire was sponsored by her father, Terry O’Malley ’85.
