Grace Schmalz

Grace Schmalz is our second place winner.  Grace will be attending University of California Santa Barbara this fall as a nutrition major.  With hopes of becoming a dietitian after college, she has been interested in nutrition for quite a few years.  We love that Grace spent so much time mentoring fellow students through her membership with the National Honor Society.  Grace was also an active member of the National French Honor Society and the National Arts Honor Society.  In addition, Grace was the captain of both her field hockey and lacrosse teams where she says nothing made her happier than being able to lead her teammates through having a fun and successful season.  Most impressive is that Grace has raised $8,000 for the American Cancer Society through her participation in the Hood to Coast Relay.  Grace was sponsored by her grandmother Judy Sabo Burks ’59. Congratulations, Grace and best of luck at UC Santa Barbara!
